The Tapioca armchair evokes the richness of Brazilian cuisine, a blend of elements that brings memories and flavors to life. Tapioca flour, derived from indigenous traditions, is today a key ingredient in many classic and modern Brazilian dishes, from beiju to innovative culinary creations.
Inspired by the versatility of this delicacy, and its role as a base to receive other flavors, the Tapioca armchair features arms that envelop the seat and backrest. The elevated seat appears to float, allowing space for foot movement, supported by a recessed base that is often hidden, especially at the back. The backrest rises naturally from the seat, providing adjustable support, and the ottoman mirrors the seat’s proportions, perfectly pairing with the armchair.
Wilian Bertuol was born in Guaporé-RS, 31 years old and is a product designer for the Duoma brand, signing several pieces in the portfolio. His career in furniture and object design led him to receive prestigious awards, such as the iF Design Award 2024 and the “Best in Show” at Abimad 35.
